Showing up to the beach covered in razor bumps or patches of body hair are two things that nobody wants. Before you head somewhere tropical for spring break, come into our office to get waxed by one of our skin care professionals; that way, you won’t have to worry about shaving or showing up to the beach with hair in some embarrassing places. If this is your first time waxing ever or in quite some time, then we have created a list of a few tips to help you get even more out of your wax.
Everyone is prone to getting ingrown hairs which can make it a lot harder for us to grab hold of them during your waxing session. About a day or two before you come in to get waxed, use an exfoliating scrub all over your body. The scrub will help to release ingrown hairs while also getting rid of dead skin; both of which will leave you with better results after waxing. Just make sure that you avoid using it on the day of your wax because it may leave your skin feeling hypersensitive.
Skip Shaving Before
You need to have at least ¼ inch of hair before you get waxed; that way, your waxing strips and wax have enough hair to grab onto. Even though you may be tempted to reach for that razor before you come in and get waxed, don’t do it.
Know How to Do Touch-Ups
One thing to know about waxing is that it doesn’t last forever. For some people, it may last longer than others. If you want to touch up some regrowth while you’re on vacation, skip the tweezing and plucking and shave instead. Tweezing and plucking disrupt your hair follicle which will make it harder next time you come in for a wax. Shaving, however, won’t do anything to the hair follicle which makes it a safe thing to do.
