Dermal Fillers Bloomington, ILWhen you hear of facial fillers, images of women who have plastic looking faces may come to mind. Here at Twin City Plastic Surgery, we specialize in a variety of different treatments; both surgical and non-invasive to help patients get a more youthful looking complexion. If you are looking for a non-surgical solution to soften your fine lines and wrinkles, or add more volume to your skin, then it may be your turn to try facial fillers. One of the fillers that we offer here at our office is called Belotero. Let’s take a closer look at Belotero and how it differs from other fillers.

What is Belotero?

Belotero is a hyaluronic acid filler that is used to help soften fine lines and wrinkles in the face. Because hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body, Belotero can immediately correct and smoothe the skin. Belotero, in particular, is unique because it adapts to the skin to help soften it and make everything look a little evener.

How Does Hyaluronic Acid Work?

Hyaluronic acid works by binding to water which in turn, fills in wrinkles and folds and smooths out the skin.

Where can Belotero be Used?

In the most basic terms, fillers are typically used from the nose down, and Botox is used from the eyes up. Belotero is popular because it can be used to help soften nasolabial folds as well as soften delicate areas of the face such as vertical lip lines.

How is Belotero Different than Juvederm?

One of the most popular fillers on the market is Juvederm. And, Juvederm is also a hyaluronic acid based filler which makes it similar to Belotero but different at the same time. The biggest thing that differentiates Belotero from Juvederm is its consistency. Specifically, Belotero is a lot softer than Juvederm which makes it more ideal at filling in particularly delicate parts of the skin.

We offer several different types of dermal fillers at Twin City Plastic Surgery. Although Belotero may be ideal for some patients, it may not be the right filler for you. During your initial consultation with our staff, we will go over all of your concerns and help you choose the right filler for your needs. Are you ready to schedule your consultation?
