Many women don’t like the way their vaginal lips look. Beyond cosmetic reasons, many women also experience pain or discomfort from the way their body is naturally built in that region. Whatever the reason behind it, labiaplasty can help you feel more comfortable and confident.
What is Labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty is the name for a minor surgical procedure that helps to improve the appearance of a woman’s external genitalia. The most common concern is reducing the labia minora or the inner genital lips so they don’t hang outside the labia major, or outer lips.
How is Labiaplasty Done?
We tailor every surgical procedure to the individual’s concerns or goals but there are some common methods we can share. The most common need as mentioned above is to reduce the labia minora inside the labia majora. This is done by reducing the length and size of the tissue.
What Will My Recovery Be Like?
As one can expect, you will have some swelling and pain when you get home from surgery. We recommend using ice for 20 minutes on and then 20 minutes off for the first couple of days post-op. It’s also important to rest and take it easy for the first five days after surgery. You will need to wait at least 4-6 weeks after your surgery to engage in sexual intercourse. Avoid using tampons for six weeks as well. You can go back to exercising after 2-3 weeks. If your procedure involved other minor changes, your recovery time may vary. Be sure to heed our instructions for the best recovery and results.
When Will I See Results From This Procedure?
You should notice results immediately afterward but there will be some swelling. After a week or two, you should be able to see the actual results. Most patients will also feel their chafing has reduced, their sex lives have improved, and feel a sense of renewed confidence.
