So you just got liposuction and you think you’ll keep looking this incredible forever, right? Unfortunately, that’s not how our bodies work. Just like you can’t just work out once and call it good, your body won’t stay looking the way it looks following liposuction without a little bit of work on your end. Luckily, liposuction helps to remove fat from hard-to-lose fatty areas of your body like your upper thighs, abdominal region, and arms. So if you’ve already taken care of some of those areas, it’ll all just be about maintenance. Let’s take a look at what you should focus on.
It can be tempting to go back to indulging in all the foods that you thought were off-limits before your procedure. But it’s important to stick to a healthy diet. We recommend sticking to whole grains, lean meats, and of course plenty of fruits and vegetables. But that doesn’t mean you can’t occasionally have carbohydrates or sugary treats. It’s just important to remember to enjoy these items in moderation. Not only will it help to keep your liposuction treated areas looking great, it’ll be beneficial for your overall health as well.
Just like with your diet, you may feel like you’ve earned some slacking on exercise with your new slim and trim physique. But to keep those results, it’s important to break a sweat! As soon as you’ve been given the okay from your doctor, you should start working out again. If it’s been a while since you’ve worked out, don’t worry. Take it slow. A little bit of activity is always better than no activity. Start by working out a few times a week, you can start with low-impact exercises or walks around the neighborhood. We do recommend trying to incorporate strength training exercises when you feel up to it to tone your body to maintain those results.
