You have your beach bag all packed with a new bikini in tow, and you’re so excited until you realize that you forgot to shave your bikini line. Don’t worry, that’s what waxing is for! And, here at Twin City Plastic Surgery, we specialize in a wide array of treatment options— including waxing— to help give you the smooth skin you’ve always wanted. So, before you consider canceling your beach day because of an unkempt bikini area, schedule an appointment with our office. To help you get the most out of your wax, we have created a guide with three tips. Read on to learn more.
Don’t Trim Too Much
Before you head to our salon to get waxed, make sure not to trim the hair too much. Remember that the longer the hair is (about a quarter inch is the best length on average), the easier it will be for us to grab the hair at the follicle and give you smooth skin.
Hydrate In Between Waxing
You will have to get a bikini wax every 3-4 weeks depending on how quickly your hair grows out. As your hair is growing back, make sure to hydrate the skin in between each waxing session. The more hydrated your skin is, the less likely you are to develop things like ingrown hairs or rashes.
Don’t Shave Between Waxes
Even though you may be tempted to grab your razor and shave in between waxing sessions, this will only disrupt the hair follicle and make things worse. If you are starting to get annoyed at the hair in between sessions, consider booking your sessions closer together.
Get the most out of your bikini wax this summer by avoiding trimming off too much hair, hydrating between waxing sessions, and avoiding shaving altogether. To learn more about bikini waxes or to schedule yours, contact Twin City Plastic Surgery today!
